An Otherworldly Sunset in Argentina

from 40.00

I spent a week by myself in the desert, surrounded by red canyons, mountains, and salt flats. I only saw clouds once during this period. It was an incredible, yet challenging experience photographing the area, as its lesser known and there wasn’t a lot for reference, so needless to say, a lot of trial and error!. However, it was refreshing and rewarding!
.
This is the Salt Flats in Jujuy, Salinas Grandes. This night is eternally etched in my mind. It was already an other-worldly place to begin with but when the sun went down, mixed in with having it all to myself, such stillness and remoteness, it took on a whole new feeling. There was an approaching storm/wall of colors that exploded across the sky followed by an intense glow all around me. If this wasnt enough, to get here, one has to drive through a mountain pass at an elevation of 4000meters (13000ft) and ive never been so close to the milky way, stars, and moon. It was as if I could reach up and touch them. Surreal experience and a night that ill never forget!
